June 14

June 14 was my 23 birthday. Wow! I'm starting to get really old. Blake came to visit me for the week! He took me to lunch at this really cool cafe in downtown Georgetown called Wild Fire. My family also had a little dinner party for me. Here are some fun pictures...

I had such an amazing week! Blake and I had a lot of fun exploring Austin together. We found an awesome sushi restaurant downtown, went to Amy's icecream, saw Ocean's 13, shopped at the Domain (an outdoor mall), saw the bats under the Congress bridge, shopped at the outlet mall, and had some really fun times hanging out with my family. I am so blessed!

Kate, as I was memorizing Philippians the other day I saw something: Timothy’s Heart for God.

Philippians 2:19-24

1. A Servant’s Heart. In v. 19 Timothy was willing to serve Paul by going to visit Philippi as a messenger. You gave up your summer to serve your family. Never heard one complaint or regret.

2. A Compassionate Heart. In v. 20 Timothy is described as having a “genuine interest” in the welfare of the Philippians. This stands by itself. You have a genuine interest in others.

3. A Syncronized/Surrendered Heart. In v. 21 Timothy had the heart of Jesus, being concerned with the interests of Jesus, not just his own. I know you have the interests of Jesus in your heart. You have a heart for the world.

4. A Proven Heart. In v. 22a Timothy “proved himself.” His testimony was observable by all. This is easy to see in you. Your hands and back speak louder than your mouth.

5. A Respectful Heart. In v. 22b Timothy served Paul with the respect due a father. Your respect is refreshing among young adults who look out for themselves and serve themselves. I am blessed when I am around you.

6. A Visionary Heart. In v. 22b Timothy had the vision of working in the gospel ministry. You may not know where or when or how, but you have a vision and I know you will “see” His Kingdom come and will be done.

Kate, I see Timothy’s Heart in you.
